Indoor Air quality monitoring in the university Campus
Indoor air quality plays an important role in the well being of individuals. Students spent most of their time in the college thus it is important to evaluate the quality of indoor air and implement some corrective measures to improve the air quality. Ambient air quality has a major impact on the indoor air quality and the campus being situated in a residential area experience a high vehicular density all the day round increasing the concentration of pollutions like the SPM,PSPM,SO2 and NO2.For this purpose, monitoring of indoor air quality was conducted in the class rooms of the campus.
The monitoring was conducted in all the blocks at each floor. The blocks which are monitored are the A,B,C,D E, F and administrative block.
Methodology
Sampling is conducted using the Envirotech Handy Sampler (APM 821)
Analysis of samples
· SPM and RSPM is analysed gravimetrically.
· SO2 and NO2 is analysed using modified west and Gaeke method and Modified Jacob and Hochheiser method respectively
