Objective: 

This course will enable the students to -

  1. Help students gain scientific perspective of the issues confronting our present day environment
  2. Encourage students to appreciate the paradigm “think globally, act locally” for a sustainable common future of humankind
  3. Understand the strengths and weaknesses in environmental laws and its enforcement for developing strategies to overcome the same
  4. Gain insights into the importance of Environmental Education at different levels

Upon completion of this course, students will:

CO55: Appraise the laws and regulations that influence how natural resources are used and protected

CO56:   Examine the impacts of urbanization and environmental management decisions on ecosystems and society and suggest measures for their improvement

CO57: Analyze and relate to the scenario of environmental education at the national and international levels

CO58: Critically examine environmental challenges, and participate actively in solving current environmental problems and preventing the future ones

CO59: Appraise the linkages between legal and social issues; and conservation problems, policies and solutions

CO60: Analyze the role of international/ national environmental institutions, summits, Government and community involvement in promoting the cause of environment.
