Visit to Kulish Smriti Van ,Jaipur

Objective of the Event: The Visit was organized for the students of UG and PG programme of the department to acquaint them with the flora and fauna of the semiarid region, Jaipur

Description:  On the occasion of National Science day, the Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with Eco-Friendly  Association organized a visit to Kulish Smriti Van,JLN Marg Jaipur, a protected forest area maintained by Jaipur Development Authority(JDA) Jaipur.  The visit was organized with an aim to uprise students regarding the flora and fauna of semi arid region. To identify the most abundant species of plant and the species with highest frequency and density, students conducted the quadrant study. The group laid several quadrants in the forest area to get the desired results. Students also got an insight of the endemic plant species of the area. They could also observe the topography of the region consisting of valleys and plains along with small hills .The visit proved to be enriching for the students.

Outcome of the visit: Students could learn the exercise related to vegetation dynamics and learnt about the varied plant and animal species of the area
