Objective: 

Course objectives

This course will enable the students to -

  1. Gain insights into various environmental hazards, their causes, nature, preparedness and assessment of loss
  2. Enhance their knowledge, capacities and skills, and perspective on disasters
  3. Understand the general concept in the dimensions of disasters caused by nature and induced by human activities with emphasis on disaster preparedness, response and recovery

Disaster Management

Upon   completion            of            this

course, students will:

of loss in various environmental

hazards

geophysical                     processes                      and

human   activities   in causing

natural hazard with emphasis

on      disaster         preparedness,

environmental, social, cultural,

economic,          legal and

organizational   aspects

local and global levels, even when          limited          information          is available
