Objective

The objective of the guest lecture was to upraise the students about various adverse effects of coal mining on different Environmental components.  

Summary/Description

Dr. Manish Yadav in his lecture elaborated upon the adverse effects of mining activities on various Environmental components including air pollution, surface subsidence, effects surface and ground water and socioeconomic effects. He  also discussed the  modern methods used to prevent the adverse effects during the mining activities.

He further explained the process of conducting Environmental Impact Assessment and its frame work for Environmental clearance for different developmental projects.

 

Outcome of the activity

 

The guest lecture for very enriching for the students as they could get an indepth knowledge of the coal mining process and its implications on Environmental components.
