An educational tour to effluent treatment plant Ahmedabad, Gir national park and Diu, Gujarat was organized by the Department of Environmental Science from 22nd to 2nd March 2019. A group of 55 students was accompanied by three faculty members.
The group visited the ETP at Arvind Mills, one of the largest textile mills at Ahmedabad which is a zero discharge industry. Students learned various steps involved in the process of industrial wastewater treatment and several significant methods of water conservation.
Safari at Gir national Park, known for large number Asiatic lions proved to be very enriching where the students got acquaintance with the flora and fauna of the area and various methods of biodiversity conservation. The group also visited the famous Somnath temple.
Students also enjoyed at the nagao beach, Diu fort and caves at Diu Island.
