Objective: 

Course Objectives:

This course will enable the students to –

  1. Give hands on experience to the students in exercises dealing with soil sampling and analysis
  2. Understand the concepts related to wildlife protection and management.
  3. Acquaint with conservation measures taken to conserve biodiversity and wildlife

Upon completion of this Practical course, the students will:

CO21: Examine the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil.

CO22: Analyze the effects of chemical, biological, and physical properties affect nutrient availability, water availability, root zone aeration, land use, and environmental sustainability of soil resources.

CO23: Critically examine the soil characteristics that affect plant growth and development.

CO24: Appraise the problems related to wildlife conservation and management through fact file making and map plotting.

Preparation of flow charts for conduction of practical exercises, Interpretation of results according to the given samples, Field Visit, Map Activity, Browsing through informative portals such as ENVIS

  • Hotspots of Biodiversity in the World
  • Important Environmental Organizations (National and International)
  • Project Tiger in India
  • Ramsar sites in India
  • National parks and sanctuaries of Rajasthan
  • National parks and sanctuaries of India
  • Biosphere reserves of India

Visit to a Zoo/ National Park/any natural habitat/sanctuary and report preparation for the same.

Note:  Any other practical exercise (related to theory) may be conducted besides the ones mentioned above.
