The Department of Environmental Science and Eco-friendly association organized a visit for the UG students to the Sewage Treatment Plant at Delawas, Jaipur. Students of B.Sc. of the University were accompanied by Mr. Ashish Tambi, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the students with the process of municipal waste water treatment. STP Delawas has treatment capacity of 125 MLD and was established with an objective to follow the wastewater disposal standard set by RPCB/CPCB. Through the visit, students got an in depth knowledge of the various components of the treatment plant based on Activated Sludge Process. They also become familiar with the working principle and functions of various units of treatment plant such as screens, grit chamber, primary clarifier, aeration tank, secondary clarifier, sludge digester, etc. The visit was quite helpful for the students to get the practical knowledge regarding the functioning and process of municipal waste water treatment plant.
