Departmental Orientation report 2022
Guidance and planning is a prerequisite for successful completion of any work. Keeping this in view, the departmental orientation programme, for students admitted for the UG and PG programme for the session 2022-23 was held on 3rd September, 2022 in Room No. A 602. A total of 10 students attended the orientation programme. The purpose of the orientation programme was to acquaint students with the significant information about the department and the course structure.
To uprise the students with the details of the department and the faculty profile, the programme was initiated by Dr. Shelja K. Juneja, head of the discipline. Dr. Juneja explained the scheme of exam, credit system and pattern of exam. She also explained the time table of the UG and PG programme.
Dr. Alka Kataria thereafter explained the steps to go through the departmental website for various information updated time to time during the session and the link for downloading the syllabus. Dr. Kataria also elaborated various links available for retrieving study material from the websites and links which could help in enhancing the subject knowledge of the students.
Online resources now a day play a significant role in knowledge enhancement. Thus details about the digital library were explained by Dr. Alka Kataria. Departmental activities conducted all through the year enhance the overall development of the students. Thus the details of activities conducted in past and the proposed activities for the upcoming session were discussed by Dr. Charu Jhamaria. Thereafter Ms. Tanisha Ameriya acquainted the students about the various positions held by the alumnae and awards won by them during the course of study. She also elaborated upon the various scientific collaborations of the department which can be utilized by the students for their academic growth during the course of study.
The Session was ended by Dr. Shelja K. Juneja with the thanking the students for attending the orientation programme.
Dr. Juneja elaborated upon the various aspects of Environmental Science, the significant areas of research in the department and scope of the subject.
