Departmental Orientation report 2023
Guidance and planning is a prerequisite for successful completion of any work . Keeping this in view, the departmental orientation programme, for students admitted for the in UG programme for the session 2023-24 was held on 16th August 2023 in Room No. A 602. A total of 05 students attended the orientation programme. The purpose of the orientation programme was to acquaint students with the significant information about the department and the course structure.
To uprise the students with the details of the department and the faculty profile, the programme was initiated by Charu Jhamaria , head of the Department.
Examination is an integral part of any study programme and understanding the scheme of exam is important for the students to plan their study. The scheme of exam, credit system and pattern of exam was explained by Dr. Shelja K. Juneja. She also explained the time table of the UG and PG programme
Thereafter, Dr. Ashish Tambi elaborated upon the various aspects of Environmental Science, the significant areas of research in the department and scope of the subject. He also explained the functioning of the department website so as to make students aware about the use of website and the information regularly updated on the site
Online resources now a day play a significant role in knowledge enhancement. Thus details about the digital library were explained by Dr. Alka Kataria. Dr. Kataria elaborated upon the various links available for retrieving study material from the websites and links which could help in enhancing the subject knowledge of the students.
Departmental activities conducted all through the year enhance the overall development of the students. Thus the details of activities conducted in past and the proposed activities for the upcoming session were discussed by Dr. Charu Jhamaria. keeping in view the significance of awards and placements of alumnae Dr. Jhamaria acquainted the students about the various positions held by the alumnae and awards won by them during the course of study. She also elaborated upon the various scientific collaborations of the department which can be utilized by the students for their academic growth during the course of study.
Ms . Tanisha Ameriya thereafter made the students aware about the well placed alumae of the department.
The Session was ended by Dr. Charu Jhamaria with the thanking the students for attending the orientation programme.
