Practical: Soil Analysis

chemical and biological properties

of soil.

properties that   affect   nutrient

availability, water availability, root zone aeration, land use, and

environmental    sustainability    of

soil resources.

characteristics that affect plant

growth and development.

CO10: Appraise the problems related to wildlife conservation and management through fact file making and map plotting.

Learning activities for the students: Preparation    of    flow charts for conduction of practical exercises, Interpretation          of results according to the    given     samples, Field       Visit,       Map Activity,        Browsing through     informative portals such as ENVIS

  • Determination of water holding capacity of soil
  • Determination of conductivity of soil
  • Test for the presence of carbonate and deficiency of replaceable bases.
  • Test for the presence of inorganic salts.

Preparation of Green File comprising of newsarticles, facts, reviews, etc related to the environment.

Note: Any other practical exercise (related to theory) may be conducted besides the ones mentioned above.
